A stunning and exceptionally rare eight day mechanically wound clock by one of the world's most celebrated watch and clock makers. This piece, which dates around the Art Deco period, could quite possibly have been retailed by Hermès.
Jaeger LeCoultre made a large variety of clocks and watches for Hermès, along with a few other Swiss watch makers over the years, and not every piece was duel signed. This has all of the hallmarks of a clock designed by Dupre Lafon, or later on, Jacques Adnet. The beautiful brown leather, crease lines and the saddle inspired stitching. If not designed by either of these masters, the designers from Jaeger certainly were influence by their work.
The movement in the rear of the clock is a Swiss made and can simply be wound and set from the nobs on the rear. Made in France. Circa 1935.
