Today's offering features a very cool vintage direct read Lord Elgin. These futuristic watches utilized a mechanical digital display for the hours and minutes. They have a great futuristic yet vintage look.
The most collectible of these watches is the so-called Lord Elgin Elvis Presley watch offered here, so named because Elvis Presley owned and wore one (see the photos below).
The word Lord in Lord Elgin signified Elgin's premium line of watches which featured higher jeweled movements and more desirable cases. The 21 jewel 6 adjustment caliber 719 movement is the highest grade movement used in the direct read Elgin watches.
The watch is in honest original condition with original hour and minute disks. The only replacement parts appear to be the winding crown and crystal.
Our watchmaker has freshly cleaned and oiled the movement. For the finishing touch we have installed a brand new expensive crocodile strap. Please inquire if you would like a band similar in style to the one Elvis used.
